Speakers Trust public speaking event

We’re incredibly proud to share some fantastic news about one of our Year 10 students, Fatima Hamid, who recently took part in the Speakers Trust public speaking event.

Competing against 15 other pupils, each delivering a powerful speech of three minutes or less on topics such as misogyny, war and peace, love, autism, and knife crime, Fatima represented the academy with confidence, passion, and maturity.

Although she did not win in the final competition, her achievement is still hugely impressive. More than 2,500 pupils took part in the initial speech writing stage across Yorkshire. Reaching the final and standing out among so many is a testament to her skill and commitment.

Well done, Fatima, you’ve made us all proud!
