Today we welcomed our Year 11 students to a socially distanced results day. This is a cohort of young people who have had an experience in their final year of school like no other. It was lovely to see so many of them come and collect their results in person and we thoroughly enjoyed being able to celebrate their success with them.
The completion of Centre Assessed Grades was a process that was forced by circumstances which nobody could possibly have foreseen. Our staff worked meticulously and ethically to provide grades for students as fairly and accurately as possible using a variety of evidence including mock exams and assessments.
It is important to remember that these results are based on the hard work of students during their Key Stage 4 studies, and the fact that they were not able to sit their final exams does not detract from this achievement. If anything, given all the challenges that this year has produced, students should feel particularly proud of their achievements, which are a credit to their hard work and perseverance. We cannot stress enough how proud we are of them.
We wish them lots of luck for the future.
